Below is a list of tips, which will help you make the best use of space within your storage unit and ensure your belongings are safe and secure.

• Do not place heavy or sharp furniture on top of upholstered furniture.
• Use wardrobes and large objects to store smaller effects in.
• Tape all appliance doors shut when moving (allow air to fridges and freezers).
• Always clean your cooker before moving and give utility companies a few days notice to disconnect appliances.
• Protect your mattresses, sofas and chairs with specially designed plastic covers (see price list).
• Wrap mirrors and paintings in bubble wrap or paper blankets and never store a mirror flat.
• Get plenty of sturdy cartons, packing paper, heavy-duty tape and marker pens to aid you with packing (see price list).
• Use a good quality lock on your storage unit door, as cheap locks can rust (see price list).
• Pack china, glasses and dishes carefully with wrapping paper and cushion them in the carton with crumpled paper.
• Warning: DO NOT STORE COMBUSTIBLES OR PERISHABLES such as old paint, cleaning fluids, petrol, food, etc.
